We are very proud to share the most recent ISRS Guidelines published in the Red Journal in August: “Radiosurgical Management of Cavernous Sinus Hemangioma: Systematic Review, Meta-analysis, and International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society Practice Guideline”.
Cavernous sinus hemangiomas (CSHs) are rare tumors where surgery carries high risk, and this meta-analysis assessed stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and fractionated SRS (FSRS) as alternatives. Sixteen studies with 324 patients were conducted to come to the findings and recommend SRS/SFRS as a safe, effective treatment within specific parameters.
Eyub Yasar Akdemir, from Miami Cancer Institute in Florida, USA and lead author discusses the process and the results of the study. Watch here:
