We are very proud to share the most recent ISRS Guidelines published in the journal Neurosurgery in June: Repeat Single-Session Stereotactic Radiosurgery for Cerebral Arteriovenous Malformations: A Systematic Review, Meta-Analysis, and International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society Practice Guidelines
Lead author, Dr. Ahmed Shaaban, describes the importance these guidelines hold for clinicians and the patients they treat:
"If SRS didn't work initially, still there is a chance for your patients. Obliteration can be achieved in 59% of cases after repeat SRS for AVM within 3-5 years from initial treatment without increase in either hemorrhage rate or radiation induced changes, without a need to decrease the dose as well."
