Discover Leksell Vantage Angio Solution

We recently launched the Leksell Vantage Angio Solution for Leksell Gamma Knife, bringing angiography imaging into the Vantage workflow and expanding the possibilities for targeting vascular anatomy with confidence. If you haven’t heard about it yet, visit our dedicated landing page Leksell Vantage Angio Solution | Neurosurgery | Elekta, or better yet, join us at WSSFN in Marseilles for a live product demonstration and see the solution in action firsthand.

In the meantime, make sure to listen into this new podcast episode from Physics World on “Gamma Knife Radiosurgery for Benign Brain Conditions”, where Katharine Hunt, Head of Radiosurgery Physics at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, shares insights from one of the world’s longest-running Gamma Knife centers, including talking about their treatments of AVMs.

Exciting things are happening within the Leksell Gamma Knife Society!

Following the success of the most recent Leksell Gamma Knife Society meeting in Stockholm, we were so pleased to announce that Vincent Denot has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Society.

As we build on the momentum of last year’s meeting, we are already looking ahead to the next gathering of our global community in 2027 in Istanbul, Turkey. Dates and further details will be announced soon, so stay tuned for more information.

Elekta marks two million Gamma Knife patients treated worldwide

A major milestone in radiosurgery was reached as more than two million patients worldwide have now been treated with Leksell Gamma Knife® radiosurgery. The two millionth treatment was performed at Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm, the birthplace of Gamma Knife, where Professor Lars Leksell pioneered the technology.

This achievement reflects decades of innovation and clinical excellence in non-invasive treatment for brain tumors, vascular malformations, and functional disorders. Today, Gamma Knife systems are installed in more than 60 countries, helping patients around the world benefit from precise, evidence-based radiosurgery.
