Fellow of the International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society (FISRS)
The FISRS designation recognizes outstanding service to the ISRS including leadership and expertise in the field with a global contribution in education and/or research and/or practice standards.
- The FISRS program was announced in June 2025 at the ISRS CNS Summit in Geneva, Switzerland.
- The first FISRS awards will be formally granted at the ISRS 2026 Congress in Sydney.
- FISRS designation will automatically be awarded to ISRS Past Presidents provided they are in good standing with the ISRS.
- FISRS awards will occur at each ISRS Biennial Congress for up to 2 Neurosurgeons, 2 Radiation Oncologists and 2 Medical Physicists.
FISRS Award Process
- The process for FISRS awards will occur as follows:
- Call for nominations opens two years prior to and closes 3 months before the ISRS Biennial Congress.
- Applications require a statement from the candidate, CV and two reference letters.
- The ISRS Award Committee reviews applications and provides a report to the ISRS Officers and BOD for final vote and approval.
Qualifications and Criteria
1. You meet the following Educational Requirements:
- You hold a medical degree from an accredited institution; and
- You completed a Neurosurgery or Radiation Oncology residency; and
- You are Board-certified in Neurosurgery or Radiation Oncology.
Or:
- You hold a post-graduate degree in Radiological/Medical Physics; and
- You completed a Medical Physics residency; and
- You are a certified Medical Physicist.
Note: Educational standards equivalent to those referenced above may be achieved at institutions anywhere in the world and will be considered as part of your FISRS application
2. You are an active and paying ISRS Member and can show supporting services/contributions you have made to ISRS.
3. You have at least 15 years of professional experience in your field of expertise.
- Contributions through research, certification, education or leadership roles within ISRS can enhance demonstrated expertise.
4. You adhere to ethical standards and clinical guidelines set by ISRS, maintaining the highest level of patient care in your practice.
